Last April I got accepted to my first conference. It is a student conference, and as a master’s student it seemed like a good idea to break to see what the whole academic format looked like. The conferece was Sider, at Aarhus University in Denmark.
A few days before leaving to Denmark, I got chicken pox, and of course, considering how contagious it is, I could not travel. The good people at Sider allowed me to present via Skype. The terrible view of my blister-ridden face blown up on a projector was captured by the follow tweet.

What a way to start, right?
